8108, Exploring Technology Systems: 3.02, Assess how cultural, social,
economic, political, historical and environmental factors affect technology and
are affected by technology.
Students develop a PowerPoint presentation on a
chosen technological tool (such as stealth tech., cell phones). During the
process they must research the tool's history by developing a timeline within
the PowerPoint presentation, discuss the historical significance of the tool, then
discuss how the tool has impacted the environment, economy and society BOTH
positively and negatively. They then must assess through their research if
whether or not the chosen technological tool is worth while keeping and why.....
Afterwards they must present their presentations to the class and defend their
findings.

6) How does and has this Technology impacted the environment both positively and negatively? 15 points
7) Conclusion statement; Is this technology worth keeping? (Why or Why Not?) 10 points
I always tweak this activity to meet the needs of the
students of the day.
