Learning station for research:  Students are assigned to a topic that goes along with our story of the week.  They either have to search on a specific website or on the WorldBook for Kids.  Once they have had sufficient time to research a topic, they have to complete a task using their gathered information to ensure they are in fact on the computer for the right purpose.

Students have a form or task to complete based on their research.  They may have to write facts, make a poster incorporating facts, or complete a graphic organizer about their topic.

The activity has been great.  We are using it on a weekly basis to get all kids on laptops at least once a week.  In the beginning, their assignment was more open ended.  As the year has progressed, I have gotten more specific about what I want them to look for on a site.
