In our weekly grade level meetings, 4th grade teachers and I talk about our ESL students and what we can do together to improve their performance in all content areas. Recently, the teachers asked me to work on word problems with these students. I have been working on building their Math vocabulary and comprehension in order to enhance their word problem solving skills. As a way to give students extra practice and assess their learning, I let them use the Netbooks to log in to the First in Math website. It is a fun and interactive way to practice and learn Math, and the students love it!
